This tutorial uses KPT 6 and Paint Shop Pro 6 and assumes you have a basic knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
You can visit Corel Corporation for purchasing information on KPT
Corel has repackaged KPT and you can get The KPT Collection which has version 5, 6 and 7 for a great price!

Let's get started :)

1. Start with a new image 300x300 with a white background.

2. Click on the airbrush tool with the following settings and paper texture set to ASPHALT and set your foreground color to #984890.
Figure 1

3. Lightly go over your white background with the airbrush, do not fill in the entire area or go over the area to heavily.
Figure 2

4. Change your foreground color to #B878B0 and do the same steps as above. Then change the foreground color to #C88CC0 and repeat the airbrush again. You should have something similar to this now.

5. Next, open up KPT 6 and go to the Goo filter. Use the magnifying glass with the "-" sign to size your image to fit in the work area. Use the smudge tool (the hand icon) with the following settings:
Figure 4

Pull the colors together in a zigzag type pattern, don't over mix the colors. If you make a mistake take the eraser tool and go over your image to start all over. When you're done, press the checkmark down at the bottom of the screen. You'll have something similar to this now.

6. Use your paint brush tool with the color set to #984890, with the following settings:
Figure 6

Set the paper texture to CRACKED CEMENT, brush type MARKER. Draw a few lines on your image, like this:
Figure 7

7. Open up KPT 6 Goo again, resize the image and use the smear tool again, same settings as before, blend the new lines in SLIGHTLY. Then use the noise tool with the following settings:
Figure 8

Move the noise tool back and forth over your image down the length of it, click on the arrow when you're done. This is what your image should look like now.

Our last step is to make a seamless tile. Use your selection tool set to rectangle and select an area in the center of your image, then, SELECTIONS-Convert to seamless tile and your faux marble tile is done :) The possibilities are endless for this. Use it to frame pictures, as a pattern to fill in selections. Change the background color to black and you'll have a totally different look.
